Mojca

As a puppy, Mojca was found sick and scared under a parked truck in Sarajevo. Rescued by Vedran, she was nursed back to health and spent four years at the shelter, charming everyone with her sweet nature.

When Caroline saw Mojca’s photos, it was love at first sight. Already the owner of Luna, another Bosnian rescue, she knew Luna needed a little sister. Just before Christmas, Caroline brought Mojca home—the best holiday gift they could have asked for.

My Bosnian dogs, Luna and Mojca, have filled my life with joy. Luna, 9, is a survivor and quite the drama queen. Mojca, our little lady, adapted to her new home and walking on a leash within days. She is an elegant, funny addition to our family, and she and Luna immediately seemed like old friends.

The FOSS team made the adoption process smooth and stress-free, and they continue to check in on her, showing how much they care about their rescues.

Laya

Four years ago, in one of the saddest moments of my life, I found Laya. I had just lost my beloved dog, Pero, and my heart was shattered. I wasn’t sure how to move forward, but then Laya came into our lives like a ray of light. She didn’t just fill the emptiness—she saved us.

From the very start, Laya brought joy, warmth, and love into our home. She became the perfect sister to Loko, and they shared two wonderful years together, full of playfulness and companionship. When we faced another heartbreaking loss and had to say goodbye to Loko, it was Laya who helped us heal.

Today, Laya has a new sister, Koko, and the two of them are absolutely inseparable. Their bond is pure and beautiful, reminding me every day of the incredible gift that adoption brings. Laya has been with us for over four years now, and I cannot imagine life without her. She is not just a pet—she is family, our heart and soul, the one who showed us that love always finds a way to heal.

Adopting Laya was one of the best decisions of my life, and through her, I’ve learned that sometimes, the ones we rescue end up rescuing us.

Šapa

The moment Šapa walked into my life, everything changed. From the very start, we shared an unexplainable connection. She taught me the true meaning of unconditional love, trust, and living life to the fullest.

She was my baby, my guardian angel, my service dog, and my best friend. We spent so many nights together, communicating in a language only the two of us understood. As much as it seemed I saved her, in reality, she saved me in countless ways.

Šapa never forgot Vedran and the entire FOSS team. I am forever grateful and proud to have had the blessing of being her mom.

Luan

Luan and I saw each other for the first time on December 23rd, 2022, when Deborah brought him on the plane for me. As soon as we arrived at his new home, he lay on my chest and fell asleep.

Over the next few days, Luan grew more confident and quickly became a dog who didn’t even need a leash. He is probably the sweetest dog a person could meet—so gentle that he even gets along with my sister’s rabbit.

Luan has been with me for two years now and follows me almost everywhere. He is incredibly loyal and easygoing. With him, I didn’t just find a dog—I found a best friend.

Vedran gave me great advice on choosing a dog that matched my temperament, and he was very honest throughout the process. I would adopt from FOSS again in a heartbeat and cannot recommend the team enough.

Mogli

Our dear Mogli came to us when he was around six months old, and we immediately fell in love with his gentle nature. He got along perfectly with our other dog, and when our daughter was born a year later, Mogli was always by her side—even sharing his toys with her.

Today, they are best friends, and he remains her devoted protector. Mogli is such a gentle soul, and we are so grateful to have him in our lives.

Thank you to Vedran and his team for saving Mogli from the streets and trusting us with him.

—Katherin and Martin, Germany
